ANYONE NEED COFFEE?

I love that high when everyone on set is of one mind, one goal, one mission, get it in one. This was the challenge presented to us by Jared, our wonderful director who had a vision where everyone, and I mean everyone on set has a full cup of coffee!

This well written and better executed project was the culmination of months of hard work, planning and preparation. I only had to show up on the day, ready to go, but the crew behind the scenes had been working round the clock to work out the steps of this intricate dance.

From the very beginning the mission was to complete this whole film in one shot. To be honest, this was an amazing challenge, one that excited the whole team. As time went on it became clear just how intricate the camera movements were going to be, as they followed the waitress around the restaurant from customer to customer, providing the fabric of the story.

This was before the fake mustaches went on!

The dance.

We were all holding our breath as on the final take of the night. We only had four opportunities to get it just right. The rig Alex danced across set weighed around 100lbs, and after 10-12 min takes, we took a 30 min break to reset and let him rest and recover his strength before the next go.

On the final take of the night we nailed it! We did it for the coffee! The lifeblood of productions! The high was real, there’s something magical about a group of strangers coming together for a day, playing make-believe, creating a moment that will never happen again.

This was the perfect storm of energies, characters, actors, crew, and I was extremely grateful to participate in this project. It gave me confidence, and inspired me to continue to grow as an actor and as a member of a team with a common goal, in this case, drink ALL THE COFFEE!
