SOMNIA

Just me, being silly, having fun and excited to film and create!

Don’t mess with this one tonight!

Doesn’t matter this size of the role, or the size of the production. It’s all about the heart, drive and determination of the people gathered to tell a story! And this crew was amazing.

One thing I did learn, is the amount of work and energy that goes into a single short production. This also being my first project, I was an experienced novice, but inexperienced athlete, so to speak. This first project took it out of me! I was wrecked for almost an entire month. This was true training at it’s finest. What a great experience and we are happy to scare all those who watch it!

A journey into Hollywood begins with your first short film. Thanks to a good friend, Medha Jaishankar, who I met through Sophia, my first project dropped into my lap, and into my home. Which was the setting for Somnia, a short horror film directed by Virat Pal was my very first project outside of acting class and luckily I didn’t have to drive across town to film.

Taking place over a couple nights, we opened our home to the magic of film making and I acted opposite the amazing Kunjue Li, and my partner, now fiancé, Sophia Khan. Your first project is always a special one, and mine was no different. So happy to be working and playing!

Sophia in make-up, the rest of the crew getting all the details sorted out. Waiting for the spooky to begin!

The challenges and joys of getting everyone on the same page and working towards the same vision was awesome. Patience is key. So is catering!

Sophia was up to the challenge, going Blair Witch style, she acted as cinematographer and actor all in one. Virat gave some great direction, the make-up team came through and transformed this beautiful actress into a spooky creature.

The writing and story was super fun! Including the twist at the end.

All done up, ready for the final big scene.

First project in the can! Off to the next one! Let’s go!
